The first three years of a child’s life are absolutely critical to their long-term development.
Baby Corps creates the opportunity for infants to reach full potential in their first 1000 days — the “awakening years” — directly affecting the quality of that child’s life trajectory.
Baby Corps offers a “nurturing team” approach to providing new mothers with everything they need to help their babies reach their full physical emotional, cognitive and spiritual potential in the first 1,000 days of their child’s awakening to the world around them.
Each nurturing team is made up of three babies and a cohort of adults. The adults include the new mothers, six older adult volunteers, a pediatrician and a professional full-time guide. Working together, the nurturing teams will form the environment that will allow each baby to “awaken” — to develop and thrive in this critically important stage of life.
The BabyCorps team can be deployed at child care centers or in family home care. The essence of BabyCorps is in providing nurturing relationships to both mothers and babies.
